The lives of children in orphanages not only reflect the absence of a nuclear family figure but also showcase the dynamics of togetherness that serve as a source of emotional strength in facing life's limitations. This study aims to explore the meaning of togetherness experienced by children in orphanages based on their subjective experiences. The approach used was qualitative, with a phenomenological focus, aiming to understand the lived experiences of foster children. The research subjects consisted of three foster children at the Peduli Anak Yatim Orphanage in Palembang City, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and a review of documentation. They were then analysed through data reduction, grouping themes, and reflective interpretation of meaning. The results indicate that togetherness is perceived as emotional support, a space for sharing burdens, and a substitute for the warmth of family that is longed for. This meaning is manifested in three dimensions: emotional (sense of belonging, empathy, psychological support), social (mutual assistance, cooperation, shared responsibility), and spiritual (joint worship, religious values, gratitude, moral unity). These three dimensions form the foundation of children's social character, resilience, and emotional balance. This research confirms that orphanages serve not only as physical shelters but also as learning spaces that foster humanitarian values, togetherness, and spirituality, thereby promoting empathy, social responsibility, and the psychosocial well-being of children.
