This study aims to determine and analyse the level of academic stress experienced by final year students in the guidance, counselling, and physical education study programs while writing their theses at Sriwijaya University. Academic stress originates from various sources, including high academic demands, time constraints, and limited resources. The method used in this study is qualitative, involving data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the survey indicate that final-year students experience academic stress, characterised by various physical, emotional, and cognitive symptoms. The main factors causing stress include inability to manage time, high self-expectations, and uncertainty during the thesis guidance process. This study also identified the coping strategies employed by students, including time management and social support. Therefore, these findings are expected to provide a deeper understanding of academic stress and aid in designing more effective ways to manage stress for final-year students.
