This study aims to understand the phenomenon of social anxiety among adolescent orphans who use TikTok. The research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, involving four participants: one adolescent, one caregiver, and two peers. The findings reveal that social anxiety among adolescents appears in three main aspects, namely fear of negative evaluation, discomfort and tension in new social situations, and a general tendency to avoid social interactions. Caregivers and peers observe that these behaviors are influenced by feelings of inferiority and the adolescents’ need for social acceptance from their surroundings.
