This study aims to understand the experience of Culture Shock and the adaptation process of children in orphanages. Life in an orphanage requires children to adjust to rules, customs, and social systems that differ from those of their family environment, thus creating various emotional and social challenges. This study used a qualitative phenomenological method. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and their validity was tested using triangulation of sources from peers and the orphanage mother. The results of the study indicate that children's adaptation occurs gradually, starting with a sense of joy in the new environment, followed by more challenging periods, such as homesickness and loneliness. Thanks to the support of caregivers and peers, children can adapt and become more independent, open, and confident. Overall, Culture Shock is a necessary learning process that shapes the resilience and positive adaptation skills of children in orphanages.
