Implementation of the "Laskar Aksara Cilik" KKN Program in Fostering Creativity Among Elementary School Students

Abstract

Student Community Service (KKN) functions not only as a means of community service but also as an effort to improve the quality of basic education in rural areas. This article discusses the implementation of the "Laskar Aksara Cilik" (Little Literacy Warriors) program in Pekon Parerejo, which focuses on developing the literacy and numeracy of elementary school students through an educational games approach. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method with a participatory-educational approach, involving 21–35 students in activities over a period of two weeks. The results show development in literacy skills, including sentence construction, vocabulary enrichment, and the courage to express opinions. In the numeracy aspect, students demonstrated increased speed and accuracy in calculations, as well as a healthy competitive spirit. This program also fostered growth in learning motivation, cooperation, and social skills. Thus, the interactive, game-based learning method proves to be an effective alternative for enhancing the quality of learning in elementary schools, particularly in rural regions.
