Abstract

The increasing demand for collaboration in academic and professional environments has encouraged institutions to develop information systems capable of handling diverse types of data, including multimedia content. In practice, many lecturers and researchers encounter difficulties in storing, managing, and accessing multimedia files such as images, audio, and video within local cloud-based information systems. The most common challenges include limited storage capacity, slow access times, and data structure inconsistencies resulting from storage models that are not specifically designed to handle multimedia data. These issues become more complex when information systems are used collaboratively by multiple users who require high reliability and efficiency. Therefore, this study addresses the need for a structured, efficient, and easily replicable multimedia storage model in local cloud environments. This research aims to design and develop a MySQL-based multimedia storage model that improves data access efficiency and management within local cloud applications. The research methodology employs a software engineering approach, including requirements analysis, data model design, implementation, and performance testing. Performance evaluation was conducted using JMeter to measure response time, resource consumption, and system stability under various load scenarios. The results indicate that the proposed storage model significantly reduces access time and improves data management consistency compared to conventional approaches. These findings confirm that appropriate multimedia storage design plays a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of collaborative information systems. This study has implications for the development of academic and institutional information systems that require high performance in multimedia data processing.
